FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Our interior painters need to be able to access the walls they are painting. All we ask from our homeowners is to ensure there is nothing blocking the surfaces and to move any furniture or decorations into another / in the middle of your room. We will protect all furniture with clean drop cloths and light dust sheets. For a small extra charge, we are also happy to move furniture and decor for you.

  • Our preference is Benjamin Moore or Sherwin Willians paint products to ensure we deliver a high quality finish. However, we can use whatever paint you would like based on your budget and personal requirements.

  • Every project is unique and timing depends largely on the size of your project. With that said, we always have multiple painters working on your project for efficiency as well as the expertise to paint and prep quickly without delays.

  • The decision is yours, but you definitely don’t have to be home. We paint during work hours which means if you are busy during the day that is completely fine. You can trust in our professionalism to treat your home like it was ours and deliver a high-quality job. If you are more comfortable being home, just let us know ahead of time so we can organize our schedule.

Should I have my floors refinished or installed first? What about carpet?

It’s very important to have new flooring to carpet installed before we paint. If it’s installed afterwards, the installation can damage the paint work done on walls and baseboards. That’s why we always start every interior paint job with masking and protecting your floors.

  • 99% of the time, homeowners stay in their home while we paint. If the whole house is being painted, a homeowner may choose to stay elsewhere until we complete the job. Some room(s) may have to be sealed off if every surface of that room is being painted, however our interior painting process ensures a hassle-free experience. We make it easy for the homeowner to continue to enjoy the comfort of their own home while we work.

  • Fresh paint can oftentimes make wooden elements like trim and baseboards look better. We always start by sanding down the surface to remove daily wear and tear like holes and dents. Sanding also helps to de-gloss the surface and remove any permanent damage. We then fill in any remaining blemishes, sand again, prime, and prepare to paint!

  • We hear this question a lot and with many paint options out there, we know it can be confusing. However, it really does depend on a few factors from how your room is being used to your personal preference. A high sheen is easier to clean and longer-lasting, but the texture sometimes highlights imperfections on your wall. An eggshell sheen gives a smooth finish and is best in a room where there’s moisture or heat, such as your bathroom or kitchen. And a flat sheen is best for low-traffic rooms with a lot of light or walls with blemishes. Our advice is to talk with us to discuss the best option for your project. We are happy to help.

  • A great paint job can last up to ten years. But it really depends on the surfaces painted, quality of paint, and the general wear and tear they receive. For example, if you have pets or children, you may notice a few more dents and dirt in the hallway compared to your bedroom. Or if you have a moisture problem in your home, you may start to notice bubbling or peeling. But the general answer is that a house should be repainted every 5-10 years.

  • Every project is unique and cost will depend on a number of factors such as the material of your project, what colour you would like to repaint, and the current condition of your surfaces. When you book a free estimate, we will come to view your property and provide you with an honest quote.
